FC Barcelona has officially revealed the first details of its preparation for the 2026/27 season, with the club planning to spend part of the summer in England as Hansi Flick begins planning another demanding year. The Catalan giants confirmed that the squad will return on July 13 to carry out the traditional medical tests and physical evaluations before starting training sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Although those first weeks will take place in Barcelona, the club has also finalized plans for an overseas training camp, which will be a key part of the team's summer preparation. The most notable feature of this year's calendar is a week-long stay in England between July 27 and August 3. During that period, Barcelona will stay at St George's Park, the training center regularly used by the England national team and widely regarded as one of the best football facilities in Europe. Furthermore, the trip will not only consist of training sessions, as Barcelona are expected to play several friendly matches during their stay in England. Current plans include a behind-closed-doors match as well as a public friendly against Birmingham City at St Andrew's Stadium. The camp in England is expected to be just one part of a broader international schedule for the summer. Behind the scenes, Barcelona is also working on organizing additional matches that will further expand the club's global reach before the start of the new season. One proposal that has gained significant momentum in recent days is a friendly match against River Plate in Argentina. The possibility has been under discussion for some time, and reports suggest that negotiations are progressing positively. At the same time, another international fixture in Morocco remains under consideration, where Barcelona could face a local opponent as part of their summer tour plans.
