Leonid Goldman, representative of ex-Russian national team forward Artem Dzyuba, spoke about the interest in the player from clubs participating in European cups. Earlier, the 37-year-old striker left the Tolyatti "Akron", where he played for the last two seasons.
— Artem has already returned from vacation. He is currently without a club and is maintaining his physical shape on his own. As for the future, of course, I would like to decide as soon as possible, to solve this issue before the start of the RPL, but Artem is at such a stage of his career that there is no need to rush. He can be more selective in choosing a new club. It would be good if all the stars converged — the cooperation would be beneficial for both the team and Artem. At the moment, there are certain developments in different directions. The work is primarily carried out by me, while Artem is calmly preparing, he is in no hurry and is not nervous. We saw each other a few days ago, he played for an amateur team of our friends from St. Petersburg, which again stirred up the information space, which is poor on Russian news even during the World Cup. But seriously, this is not the first time that Artem has to prepare on his own, he knows how to get in shape. There have already been seasons when he signed a contract and got involved in the championship, starting to bring benefits from the very first matches. There will be no problems with this.
— Where we definitely won’t see Dzyuba?
— I received calls from FNL clubs and from clubs in the near abroad. With all due respect to them, our answer was negative. Artem does not set himself the goal of finding any team to play football, even for the money that would suit him. Artem has earned enough during his career, and finances are definitely not a priority. The first place is the level of the team, so that it does not struggle to survive in the RPL, but sets more ambitious goals; and the location, because he has three children in Moscow and he wants to be closer to his family.
— And if it’s a club that will participate in European competitions?
— No, foreign championships are not considered at all, and European cups are not a priority either. There were calls from clubs in the near abroad, to which European cups are assigned. Artem wants to continue playing only in the RPL, this is not even up for discussion. And what kind of club it will be, we’ll see. The transfer window is long, a lot can change before and after the start of the championship, which starts in a month. But I would like to agree on a new club as soon as possible, while Artem’s comfort is paramount, so we will not rush, we will continue to work calmly on the options that are most acceptable to us.
